Crock Pot

So I got one. I suppose now I am to cook in it, or with it, ro whatever the correct verb is there.
What I need from you guys is a good recipe or two to try it out and see how exactly this thing goes down. Yes, it came with a cookbook, but the recipes I have seen so far are either a million ingredients, or putting meatballs and bbq sauce in and 8 hours later you have meatballs with bbq sauce.
Any good ones?

I found my way to your blog. Here is probably my most favorite crock pot recipe in the world, but only because I have loved Beef Stroganoff since I was a kid. I think it's even better than my moms as the meat becomes very, very tender. Let me know what you think!

Ingrediants

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1.5 lbs round steak - cubed
flour for coating the steak
2 cans mushroom soup, 10.75 oz
3.5 cups water
3 cubes beef bouillon
packet of onion soup mix
small container of sour cream
package of egg noodles

1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Roll the cut up steak in flour and saute in the hot oil until well browned.

2. Transfer the meat to the slow cooker and mix with the mushroom soup, water, bouillon, and onion soup mix.

3. Cook on high setting for 8 hours, although if your crock pot runs hot like mine you might want to set it on low or cook for a shorter period of time. Stir in the sour cream during the last 30 minutes.

4. Cook the egg noodles per package instruction and serve the meat over the noodles.

I think I will try that Blogging for Friends! I love love love beef stroganoff.

Here's my easy recipe for Pulled Pork.

Put a pork tenderloin in, cut up an onion and add it, add a can of sprite or gingerale or I just do water. Cook it all day or on high for a few hours. Then shred it with a fork and add Sweet baby ray's. The kids eat it up.

So I went to the commissary today. Bought the ingrediants for the beef stroganoff. It is smelling scrumptious! Dinner is at 5:30. Should I set some extra plates on the table?

Oh my gosh that last sentence gave me a chuckle. I have a crockpot too and sadly I haven't used it enough. Probably will more once I have my bigger kitchen soon. I'll let you know if I come up with any good ones. Mostly all I've used mine for is spaghetti - the recipe I use is on my cooking blog. Only if you make that recipe and cook it in the crockpot don't use the cup of water it calls for because it won't evaporate off like it will when you cook it on the stovetop.

Sure, I'll be right over!

We had grilled chicken, cous cous salad, spinach salad with pumelo and roasted potatoes with onions.

How about frito pie?

It's not like she is using it today anyway!

I'm headed home for lunch to eat my leftovers. Be there when I get there?

I've always wanted a crockpot... throw some crap into it in the morning, come back home at the end of the day to a hot dinner.
Let me know how it works!
